Military and Veterans’ funerals In Nottingham, Derby, and Mansfield
In the United Kingdom a military funeral takes place when a serving member of the British Armed Forces (Royal Navy, Army, Royal Marines or the Royal Air Force) has died in active service.
Veterans and heads of state may also have a military honours funeral. Whilst in the United Kingdom there is no standard military funeral, there are elements that are common to many.
At A.W. Lymn we believe the people who have fought for our country should, if they wish, be given the military traditions they deserve with as much ease as possible.
Planning a military funeral
A.W. Lymn funeral director Neil Reeves, a Royal Navy veteran, as an experienced funeral director and military man has guided us to put together a bespoke military funeral package, to include.
- Assistance from a veteran funeral director.
- Union Flag coffin pall (drape) or a regimental drape (if available).
- Assistance to arrange the attendance of a standard bearer.
- Recorded last post for act of remembrance or a bugler for the act of remembrance.
- Assistance to arrange Veterans Guard of honour.
- Arrangement of a poppy wreath from the service.
We are pleased to have partnered with Veterans Bereavement Support, a community-based organisation providing free advice and information for all those who have served in the Armed Forces and Merchant Navy over the years.
In April 2022 Matthew Lymn Rose signed the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service, which means that business supports those who have served and recognises the service of those in the armed forces.
