A.W. Lymn Helps to Donate Hundreds of Hearing Aids to Eastern Europe
The cost-of-living crisis has affected every sphere of our lives, from the supermarkets we choose to shop in, to the number of lights we have on in our homes. Many are struggling to pay their bills, let alone give to others – resulting in a decline in charity donations. Charities Aid Foundation (CFA) reported nearly five million fewer people donated to charity between January-April 2022 compared to 2019.
We have partnered with the charity Hear Today, Hear Tomorrow, a sustainable, non-monetary answer to charity donations.
What do Hear Today, Hear Tomorrow do?
Hear Today, Hear Tomorrow (HTHT) is a British, sustainably led, not-for-profit that upcycles pre-loved hearing aids from people in the UK and donates them to people in the developing world and Eastern Europe. HTHT’s efforts support the sustainability of the audiology industry, and it regularly sends aid and audiologists to train key workers on the ground as far as Pakistan, where a drop camp in a village near Rawalpindi helped over one hundred people, aged 10-90, in five days.
A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service’s partnership
With community at our core, we placed drop off boxes in all of our funeral homes, flower shops and memorial showrooms across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire for customers and members of the public to drop off their pre-loved hearing aids, giving the gift of hearing to those in need.
