About A.W. Lymn The Craftsmen In Stone
A.W.Lymn The Craftsmen in Stone is the stone-masonry division of the A.W.Lymn group of companies, which was originally founded in the 1950’s when Harold, the son of Arthur William Lymn decided that he would like to expand the service offered to clients at the time of bereavement, to include the provision of a memorial stone following the funeral. As a result the partnership with Mr Ernest Smith was formed and Ernest Smith, The Craftsmen in Stone was founded.

With over sixty years’ experience of carving memorials by hand, we have a great knowledge of local requirements. We offer hand carved lettering. Some tried and tested methods of lettering such as inlaid lead letters on marble and raised lead letters on granite have been lost down the years by many, but our craftsmen still use them.
We work with many types and styles of stone, producing memorials in a number of materials including granite, marble, slate or sandstone. We supply, erect & deliver memorials and also offer restoration & cleaning services.
